Turkey Chicken Blend

While chicken soup is a family favorite and is known to help when you aren't feeling well, a turkey/chicken blend makes for a richer, deeper flavor. One suggestion - after Thanksgiving, instead of throwing out the bones, divide them into groups and freeze. Ingredients:
  • 1 onion (sliced thinly)

  • 6-7 quarts water

  • 2 turkey necks (cut into large chunks)

  • 1-2 pieces of raw chicken

  • 2 carrots (sliced)

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

  • 2 tsp. salt

  • 1 tsp dill

  •  2 cloves of garlic, crushed (or 1-2 tsp. of garlic powder)

Add all the ingredients and bring to a boil. Cover and cook for at least two hours (longer makes the soup richer) over a low flame. Taste before serving.
